Visitor Rules

Approval Process

The inmate will mail the DOC 20-060 Visitor's Questionnaire to adults or parent/legal guardian of children. Only persons on an offender's approved visitor list will be allowed to visit. Offenders may have up to 20 persons on their visit list.

Registration

All visitors age 16 or older must register at the reception desk and are required to show current photograph identification before each visiting period. Persons under 18 must be accompanied during the entire visit by a parent, guardian, or another adult visitor who has been approved to bring the child to the visit. Acceptable forms of identification are:

Driver's license issued by any state/county.
Temporary licenses are okay.
ID card issued by State Department of Licensing
Military identification
State of Federal Agency Identification
Passport or border crossing card
Student's identification
Indian Tribal identification

Allowable Items

Visitors may only bring limited items into the visit room.

Photo ID for adults
Locker key
Debitek card for vending machines
Life sustaining medication that is needed during the visit period with proof of prescription.
Items authorized for infants and toddlers:
- Two clear plastic bottles containing water, juice, milk, or liquid formula.
- One pacifier or teether.
- One non-quilted blanket for a young infant, maximum size 42" x 42".
- One hand towel or washcloth, maximum size 8"xl2".
- Diapers provided by facility.
- One change of clothes kept in locker.

Search of Visitors

Visitors are subject to pat, strip, electronic, and canine searches. Lockers used by visitors and visitors' vehicles, purses, packages, briefcases, or similar containers which are brought onto the facility grounds may be searched in compliance with Department Policy Directives on Searches.

Dress Standards for Visitors General Guidelines:

All clothing must be clean and in good repair. All buttons or closures must be fastened to the degree necessary to maintain modesty.
Socks, stockings, or pantyhose must be worn by all visitors.
Undergarments must be worn,
Male visitors must wear boxer shorts, briefs, or long underwear,
As appropriate, female visitors must wear briefs and brassieres. Pantyhose, leotards, or nylons and briefs must be worn with dresses or skirts.

CLOTHING NOT ALLOWED

Items with holes, rips, or tears;
Low-cut (i,e,, exposing undergarment, cleavage, back);
Sheer, transparent, or mesh fabrics, other than hosiery;
Tight fitting clothing (i.e., spandex, lycra, or other rubberized or elasticized);
Clothing that refers to obscenity, alcohol, drugs, gang references, or sex in any form;
Coullottes, shorts, cut-offs, halter tops, tank tops, sleeveless blouses or shirts;
Thongs, shower shoes, slippers, or quilted snow or foul-weather style boots or shoes;
Dresses or skirts with hemlines higher than 3 inches above the center of the knee or slits higher than 3 inches above the center of the knee;
Wrap around doming with full length openings or skirts too tight to allow officers to easily search the inner leg;
Camouflage clothing;
Bibbed attire;
Money belts or belts with compartments;
Excessive jewelry or non-searchable jewelry styles;
Headgear or excessive hair ornamentation; unless medically required and written verification is provided, or part of a religious practice;
Clothing that is difficult to search (i.e., excessive pockets or padding, layering of one outer gar- ment over another, etc.); and/or
Any item considered being a threat to the security and safety of offenders, visitors, or staff as determined by the Superintendent/designee.

MSU:

Friday through Monday: 12:30 – 3:25 and 6:00 to 8:25 p.m.
Saturday/Sunday 1:00 - 3:25 & 6:00 - 8:25 PM

State Holidays that fall on Monday/Friday will use Sat/Sun, schedule. Holidays falling on other days will not have visits.

TRU:

Friday through Monday: 12:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Thursday 1:00-3:25 PM

Saturday 1:00 - 3:25 PM A & C Units 6:00 - 8:25 PM
Sunday 1:00 - 3:25 PM B & D Units 6:00 - 8:25 PM

Regular visiting hours apply when a Holiday occurs on a regular visit- ing day. Holidays falling on other days will not have visits.

SOU:

Friday through Monday: 12:30 – 8:25

No contact inmates: 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. or, 6:00 – 8:25 p.m.

Visiting for the WSRU Segregation/3A Unit:
Thurs. through Mon. 1:00 - 3:15 PM

One visit on Saturday or Sunday and two on Thursday, Friday, or Monday.

WSRU Hospital Inpatient floor :
Thursday through Monday 1:00 - 3:00 PM

1 hour visits only – from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or, 6:00 p.m. to 8:36 p.m.

Age 18 and over only; no more than three people at a time; and one visit per day or weekend.

All Visitors

Visitors should arrive on the grounds no sooner than 30 minutes before the start of the visiting period and no less than 30 minutes prior to the end of the visit period.

Visitors are to depart the grounds immediately after completion of visits.

Visitors are not to park their vehicles at the bottom of the hill or along the city street prior to the start of the visiting period.

Visitors must lock their vehicles and close all windows before leaving the car in the parking lot.

No people or animals are allowed to remain in the vehicle parking lot during visits. Persons who do not go into the visiting room may wait in the reception area or leave the institutional grounds and return at the end of the visiting period to pick up visitors.

Directions to MCC

From South - Seattle: Take 1-5 North to 1-405 North to SR 522 East (Monroe-Wenatchee-Woodinville exit). Follow for approximately 10 miles. Take the 164th St. exit (Monroe - City Center). Turn right at the exit and proceed to entrance.
From North - Everett: Take SR 2 East to Monroe. Turn right at 1st light (Fryelands Blvd), Go to the end of the street and turn left on 164th Street.
East of mountains/SR 2 (Stevens Pass): Go West on SR 2 to Monroe. Turn right at 4th light (SR 522 West overpass). Take 164th St. exit and turn left to entrance.
East of mountains/I-90 (Snoqualmie Pass): West on 1-90 to North Bend exit (SR 202) to Fall City. Take SR 203 at intersection to Monroe. After crossing bridge entering Monroe, turn left at the 1st light (Main and Lewis) about 1 mile to entrance.

Entrance Directions

Stop at alt speakers and follow officer's directions.

MSU & WSRU entrance: Turn at 177th and go right up the hill at the WSR sign. Turn right at the top of the hill.

SOU entrance: Turn at 177th. Go past WSRU entrance and turn right up the hill at the Special Offenders Center sign. Parking lot on left.

TRU entrance: Turn at 170th up the hill across from Chevron. Parking to the right after speaker.
